What affects the cost of moving a car in Ireland or the UK
Independent providers generally quote transport per job rather than from a fixed price list. These are common industry factors, not LayBy prices or a live quote.
Distance and route
A short intercounty hop and a Dublin to Kerry or London to Glasgow run are very different jobs. Busy corridors usually cost less per kilometre than remote one-offs.
Deck sharing vs dedicated
Sharing a multi-car transporter is the cheaper option. A dedicated or enclosed move costs more but gives you the timing and protection.
Vehicle condition
Non-runners, damaged vehicles and anything needing a winch take longer to load and are priced accordingly.
Timing flexibility
A flexible collection window lets a transporter fit you into an existing route. Fixed same-day slots carry a premium.
